MORE INFO:
Casein is a nutritious protein extracted from milk. The active casein in Neuralactin is highly bio-available and therefore easily absorbed. For anyone with a milk allergy who may be wondering if it is safe to take, it’s worth knowing that hydrolysation alters the structure of the milk protein, reducing the allergenicity (the likely allergic effect) while at the same time pre-digesting the lactose. This means that casein is considered perfectly safe for who suffer with lactose intolerance or sensitivity. But for anyone who is seriously allergic (potentially anaphylactic), it would probably be better to avoid all milk products regardless of the pre-digestion just as a precaution.
L-Theanine is an amino acid. Amino acids are the building blocks that make proteins. This particular amino acid is known as neurologically active and neuroprotective (it supports and looks after the nervous system). By the way, it’s the theanine content that gives green tea its calming, soothing effect.
L-Theanine has what are known as psychoactive properties. This simply means that it’s a substance which is able to get across the barrier between the blood and the brain. Once there, it acts upon the central nervous system, the CNS, probably by stimulating the production of alpha waves, the brainwaves associated with meditative states and deep relaxation and, also, by influencing important mood-balancing neurotransmitters, gamma amino butyric acid (GABA), dopamine and serotonin. In studies, theanine has been shown to improve mood, reduce anxiety and dampen the effects of both physical and mental/emotional stress. L-Theanine can also help to boost the immune system and reduce the risk of infection.
The B vitamins were once thought to be a single unit, just one vitamin B. But they are, in fact, a group of 8 distinctly different nutrients
that are very often found in the same foods and are collectively known as the B
Complex. They’re involved in many body processes including maintaining healthy
hair and skin, enhancing immunity and helping us to burn calories. In particular,
they’re essential for the function of our nervous systems and therefore play a
vital role in how our bodies cope with stress. Neuralactin Plus contains 6 of
these 8 important nutrients.
Vitamin C (on labels it is sometimes written as L-ascorbate or ascorbic acid) is probably best known as the anti-scurvy vitamin. But it has a great many other key roles in human body function and is especially important for a strong immune system, for wound healing and in protecting us from the effects of stress.
"I took a course of Neuralactin Plus (for two months: one capsule with breakfast and one with my evening meal) while I was in the first weeks of recuperating from a knee operation and I’m certain that it contributed to the speed of my recovery. The operation had been a major one which involved not only replacing the joint but which also required a lot of repair work around ligaments, tendons and nerves which had been damaged during a previous operation. I was warned that recovery would be long and arduous, involving months of physiotherapy. And because I was having to go through revision surgery (to put right mistakes made by another surgeon), there was inevitably a lot of stress involved; so I was keen to try anything that might speed things along. I’d certainly recommend Neuralactin Plus to anyone who needs help in recovering from illness or is going through extended periods of stress."
